FORESTS MAKE US

HEALTHIER

Forests not only connect every community, they are vital to our health: removing air pollution, providing safe drinking water, lessening climate-related health risks, and offering natural spaces that nurture our physical and mental health. The current pandemic has further increased our dependence on forests as more people flock to the outdoors for recreation, relaxation, and restoration.

We need to pay special attention to those who are at greater health risk, including children and older adults. And, we need to engage people living in densely populated, nature-deprived, and historically excluded neighborhoods who are showing up with resilience in spite of the effects of redlining, employment inequities, and systemic racism.

Now more than ever we must care for, protect, and stand up for the forests that can keep us all healthy.
